About the Vero Beach and Sebastian, Florida Areas

Indian River county has some of the most beautiful beaches in Florida. It also boasts of one of the most pristine sections of the Indian River Lagoon, with excellent fishing and scenic boating areas. As well, the original inspiration for the development of land that would later become Vero Beach, citrus agriculture, is still a vital part of the county.

When families move to an area they are always concerned with the quality of the educational opportunities. Well they are greatly relieved when they move to Indian River county. The public school system is highly ranked and we have several wonderful private schools including Saint Edwards School and Saint Helens Catholic School.

Anyone who spends any time in the Vero Beach area discovers quickly that there are many wonderful, high quality cultural events to attend from the Riverside Theatre to the Vero Classical Ballet and the Vero Beach Theatre Guild.

Arbor Trace

Arbor Trace is a gated and deed restricted community in Vero Beach, Florida border by Oslo Road to the south, 43rd Ave to the east and 5th St SW to the north. There are 147 single family homes, with some of them facing one of the 2 lakes, and 12 cul-de-sacs on a 72 acre site. 
Arbor Trace is known for numerous stands of old growth oak trees, palms, lush landscaping, and it is a family friendly neighborhood. The developers did a wonderful job of keeping as many of the original trees as possible.

Legend Lakes

Legend Lakes is an attractive subdivision bordered by Oslo Road to the south, 5th ST SW to the North and it is in between 58th Ave and 43rd Ave. The developers endeavored to keep as many of the old growth oaks and sable palms which, along with the sidewalks, adds a great deal of charm. It is close to shopping and the beaches. The homes are of CBS construction and are generally well built. The subdivision is mainly comprised of a roads around three lakes with homes on one side being on the water.

Citrus Springs

Citrus Springs is a subdivision that is divided into several "Villages",  each with their own individual gate. The land was cleared and attractive landscaping added when the lots were improved with single family homes. The homes are well constructed, some are CBS and others have poured concrete walls. The amenities include a community clubhouse, swimming pool with sundeck, tennis courts and designated common spaces. Citrus Springs is located in the southwest area of Vero Beach. 

Fischer Lake Island

This subdivision is located near the canoe launch for the Sebastian River, just off Indian River county road 512. It features a long, beautiful lake and 1/2 arce or larger lots. The lot lines actually extend into the lake for the lakefront parcels. The Indian River is only about 5 minutes away and it will take about 15 minutes to get to the nearest beach. There are buildable lots still available as of 2/12/2013. One of the restrictions is that homes must be built with a garage that is on the side of the house. The subdivion is gated with remote control or keypad/intercom entry. 

San Sebastian Spring

San Sebastian Springs is a beautiful subdivision in Sebastian, Florida that was developed by Henry Fischer. The neighborhood features winding roads, lots of natural trees and folage, small lakes or ponds, private access (including boat ramp and day dock) to the Sebastian River, spacious homes on 1/2 acre or larger lots and a family friendly enviroment. It is located off of Indian River county road 512 approximately 5 minutes from the Indian River lagoon and 15 minutes from the beach.

Glendale Lakes

Glendale Lakes is an established neighborhood of 50+ homes. It is bordered by 43rd Avenue to the east and 8th Street to the south. The homes range in size from approximately 1,600 sq ft under air to 2,600 sq ft under air. Most are 3 bed, 2 bath homes with a few 4 bedroom homes. many of the home are on lots of 1/2 acre or slightly larger. One of the most attractive features of this subdivision is that it has four small lakes that many of the homes are built around. It has winding roads with a couple of cul de sacs and it is a pleasant neighborhood for walks with many old growth trees. Shopping is 5 minutes away with Publix, Walmart, Target, Home Depot, The Indian River Mall and many other points of interest nearby. The beach is 10 minutes away.

The Vineyard

The Vineyard is a gated community in Vero Beach with unique, well designed homes. The home are built around a central lake and the streets are named after wines. It is in the southwest area of Vero Beach and is very close to shopping. The main gate is off of 43rd Avenue just south of 1st ST SW. The most recent sale (6/01/2012) sold at $210,000 - $86.46 per sq ft under air.

The Preserve

The Preserve
The Preserve is a gated subdivision located in the southwest area of Vero Beach. It is bordered by 20th Avenue to the east and 5th ST SW to the south. The are three small lakes with many homes surrounding them. The houses are well constructed, CBS homes with most of them having asphalt shingle roofs and they are between 1,800 and 2,400 sq ft under air. The beach is 15 minute away and Publix and Winn Dixie supermarkets are under a 5 minute drive. The South County Park with Baseball Fields, Tennis and Basketball courts and a playground is a short walk to the south on 20th Avenue.

South Lakes

South Lakes
South Lakes is located in the southwest area of Vero Beach, Florida. A gated 
community of homes with homes constructed from 2005 to the present. Ameritrend first developed the subdivision and they included
poured concrete walls as one of the selling points of their homes. South Lakes is near the corner of 58th Avenue & Oslo Road, the Indian 
River Mall is 10 minutes north, Publix supermarket is 3 minutes to the east  and the beaches are a 20 minute drive away. 
Homes are 3 to 5 bedrooms and range from approximately 2,300 to 3,300 square feet. The larger lots are generally larger than your standard 1/4 acre. Natural gas is plumbed into the homes which can save money on utilities and give better heat control for cooking.

Barefoot Bay is an unincorporated community, recreation district, and manufactured home development in southern Brevard County, Florida. It is one of the largest manufactured home development in the state Florida. It is located entirely within the unincorporated community of Micco on the Indian River Lagoon. It is part of the Palm Bay–Melbourne–Titusville Metropolitan Statistical Area. Most of the residents are retirees & snowbirds. The nearest commercial area is in Sebastian in Indian River County. Barefoot Bay shares the 32976 Sebastian zipcode as well as the 772 area code.

Community pools, clubhouse and more make this a desirable area. Community boat dock and private beach access add to it's allure.

Sebastian Highlands

An interesting fact about the Sebastian Highlands, it is a planned unit development that was originally platted in the 1950's by the General Developement Corporation. It was later incorporated into the city of Sebastian. Prior to the development, this area in the north-east part of Indian River county was sparsely developed and sparsely populated. The lots are generally around a 1/4 of an acre and most of the streets are not laid out in a grid pattern but usually curve at some point. This discourages "cut through" traffic. The Sebastian Highlands is large with several thousand houses. Shopping is convenient with Publix (2 stores) and Winn Dixie grocery store a five-minute drive or less from most homes. Walmart or Home Depot (north on US HWY 1) will be an under 10 minute drive more than likely. The Indian River mall is 15 minutes away to the south.
One of the highlights of the Sebastian Highlands' location is its proximity to the Indian River Lagoon. If you are a boating enthusiast, having easy access to the boat ramps that are 5 minutes from the Sebastian Inlet will definitely appeal to you. A casual dining experience at Captain Hiram's Resort, Mulligan's Beach House Bar and Grill or Squid Lips Grill is sure to put a great ending on a fun day out on the water.
The Sebastian Highlands is a fantastic neighborhood for those that are looking for a relaxed pace of life with plenty of natural wildlife, nature preserves and parks.

Hammock Lakes is a gated community with two winding lakes in Vero Beach FL. Deep artesian flow wells keep the lakes fed with a stead flow of water and they are cleaner than most lakes. The homes there were built between
2000 to 2006 and are CBS construction. The builder generally supplied hurricane panels and built hip roofs which, combined with the CBS constuction provide a good wind mitigation report which can save a home owner a considerable sum on insurance. The square footage range is between 1,500 and 2,400 . The clubhouse in the 
northwest corner of the subdivision has a large pool, tennis courts and basketball
half court.

The landscape architect did a wonderful job designing the arrangement of tropical trees and shrubs to make the community a tropical paradise. With four lakes, each with a fountain, there are ample water views. The street lights and underground electric service round out the family friendly atmosphere.

Verolago is aptly named: translation from Spanish is roughly lakes of Vero. With 9 lakes it certainly lives up to it's name. Add the fact that it has a clubhouse, heated pool and 24 hour fitness center and you have a great subdivision. Conveniently located on 58th Avenue with an entrance off of 53rd Street as well, shopping and the beach are minutes away.

Ashley Lakes

Ashley Lakes is a low HOA gated community located on the North East corner of 66th Avenue and 45th Street in Vero Beach. 15 to 20 minutes away from the beach and 5 minutes or less from shopping makes this subdivision in demand.
